Abstract
The model proposed by A. L. Hodgkin and R. D. Keynes (Jour. of Physiol.,128, 61–88, 1955) for the diffusion of potassium through the nerve membrane is extended to cover an arbitrary number of species of ions with charges not necessarily the same. One type of interference is also investigated.
