Abstract
Biomedical engineering began 25 years ago. Since its beginnings it has progressed from a construction and repair service to an applied science which has made many important contributions to medicine. However, for biomedical engineering to make greater contributions to medicine in the future, more co-operation and planning are needed.

L'engineering biomédical fit ses débuts il y a 25 ans. Il a progressé, depuis lors, d'un service de réparations et de construction à une science appliquée qui a contribué largement à l'avancement de la médecine. Toutefois, une plus grande coopération et planification seront nécessaires pour que l'engineering biomédical puisse continuer à l'avenir à apporter ses contributions à la médecine.

Die biomedizinische Technik begann vor 25 Jahren. Seit Beginn hatte sie große Fortschritte an einem Konstruktions- und Reparatur-dienst auf einer angewandten Wissenschaft gemacht, die viele wichtige Beiträge zur Medizin gegeben hat. Jedoch mehr Zusammenarbeit und Planung werden gebraucht, damit die biomedizinische Technik in der Zukunft größere Beiträge zur Medizin geben kann.
