Abstract

This paper considers current pratice in fatigue design of offshore concrete structures. Procedure for calculation of long term distribution of response to environmental loads from wind, waves and current is briefly discussed. The basis for fatigue design expressed in rules and requirements is described. Detailed evaluations for concrete, reinforcement, shear and bond with emphasis on cumulative fatigue are discussed. Areas where detailed recommendations are lacking or based on uncertain assumptions are pointed out and further research is suggested.
