Abstract

Immunodiffusion studies show that serum concentration of α1-acid glycoprotein remains virtually the same during all trimesters of pregnancy. A positive correlation (r=0.87) between the term of pregnancy and the concentration of the α1-acid glycoprotein fraction with bi-, tri- and tetra-antenna side chains is established using crossed affine immunoelectrophoresis in the presence of concanavalin A.
