Abstract
Thermal transformations of PAN fibres modified with polyphosphate (PP) were investigated. It was found that PP affects cyclization and persists in the structure of the carbon fibre. The decrease in ordering of the structure of the carbon fibre with an increase in the concentration of PP in the fibre decreases the strength and modulus of elasticity with a simultaneous increase in the electric conductivity of the modified fibre.
