Abstract

Magnetostatic and Mössbauer studies of RFe6Al6 alloys for R=Y, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er with ThMn12 type structure exhibit ferrimagnetic properties with the magnetic ordering temperature independent on the magnetic moment of rare earth atom. The alloys with Tb and Dy show a strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy below 250 K.
