Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Operation of the pumping plant in the protected bay for two years has shown the reliable behavior of the bank-protecting and retaining structures. The wind waves do not have any significant effect upon the pumping plant and sediments are not deposited in the intake. Thus, the adopted type of protection is highly effective; it ensures reliable operation of all the structures.

  2. 2.

In reservoirs with intense bank reshaping, it is convenient to construct the bank-protecting structures not simultaneously with the main structures, but after the bank has been reshaped and a gently sloping bank line has been formed.
