Aphid parasitoids [Hym.: Aphidiidae, Aphelinidae] from the Yemen Arab Republic

Abstract

Four parasitoid species on 10 aphid pests have been established in the Yemen Arab Republic.

Aphidius colemani Viereck is the key species that includes most of the pest aphid species in its host range. The parasitoid fauna resembles closely that of the Ethiopian region, with some penetration of the Mediterranean elements.

Résumé

Quatre espèces de parasitoides provenant de 10 espèces de pucerons nuisibles aux cultures ont été identifiées en Republique Arabe du Yemen.Aphidisu colemani Viereck est l'espèce clé qui comprend la plupart de ces pucerons comme hôtes. La faune de ces parasitoides ressemble étroitement à celle de la région éthiopienne, avec quelques pénétrations d'éléments méditerranéens.
