Abstract
A biaxial fatigue specimen, designed to model the state of stress of the blade to disk joint in a typical gas turbine, has been analyzed and tested. The method of analysis was shown to predict the location of the worst damage and of crack initiation. This paper describes the analysis and testing of a simplified model that may be used in preference to the previous one.
