Calcium oxalate films on stone monuments — Microbiological investigations

  • Published:
Aerobiologia Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The origin of calcium oxalate films on stone monuments is investigated and discussed in relation to atmosphere-polluting microorganisms that, under certain conditions, can produce oxalic acid. A list of the fungi microorganisms that are presumably involved in the formation of oxalate films is reported.
