Calibration in TLC/HPTLC using the Michaelis-Menten function

Summary

The Michaelis-Menten function describes a non linear relationship and is a possible calibration curve in TLC. Usually the linearized forms are used but the problem of uncontrolled error propagation arises from data transformation and hence incorrect calibration. Nonlinear regression analysis is therefore used in this paper. The results of erroneous transformation according to Lineweaver-Burk and to Eadie are compared with the results of non-linear regression by means of three sets of measured data or data given in the literature.
