Summary
A new thermostat for isothermal gas chromatographic measurements, working within the range, 30–300°C, with a temperature stability of ±0.01°C, has been developed. Using this thermostat, a gas chromatograph has been assembled, with which the retention indexes of C5 to C8 hydrocarbons at 50°C on 0V-110 stationary phase were measured, with an average standard deviation, σ=0.1 l. The effect of the instrumentation, the influence of the column type and material and the film thickness of the stationary phase on the precision of the retention indexes are discussed.
