Summary
Corrected retention volumes V R1 and differential molar changes of internal energy\( - \overline {\Delta U_1 } \) during adsorption of substances of different classes on weakly specific and specific porous polymers have been measured by a gas chromatographic method using helium, sulphur hexafluoride, carbon dioxide and water vapour as carrier gases. The use of adsorbable carrier gases results in a marked decrease in\( - \overline {\Delta U_1 } \) values; moreover, the effect of carrier gas is the greater the stronger it can be adsorbed on the porous polymer. Among carrier gases investigated water vapour has the greatest effect on V R1 and\( - \overline {\Delta U_1 } \) values. Therefore, it was studied in detail.
