Es wird an Hand der Literatur ein kurzer zusammenfassender Überblick über die gegenwärtigen Probleme der Herkunft, Verteilung, Nachweismöglichkeiten und der Gefahren künstlich radioaktiver Stoffe im Meer gegeben.

Summary

Basing on to-day's literature, a concise summarizing outline is given discussing the present problems of origin, diffusion, methods of tracing and danger of artificial radioactive material in the sea.

Ein erster Literaturbericht über „Isotope und Ozeanographie” wurde in der Deutschen Hydrographischen Zeitschrift Band 8, 1955, S. 203–206 gegeben. Inzwischen ist die Zahl der Veröffentlichungen so groß geworden, daß ein weiterer Literaturbericht nützlich erscheint, der sich mit Herkunft, Verteilung und Nachweismöglichkeit künstlich radioaktiver Isotope beschäftigt. Der Gegenstand verdient u. a. auch deshalb Aufmerksamkeit, weil das Deutsche Hydrographische Institut mit der Überwachung der heimischen Meere beauftragt ist.
