Abstract
We show that the presence of the second harmonic of phase modulation frequency leads to the appearance of spurious modulation of radiation intensity at a fiber-ring interferometer (FRI) output at the first harmonic, which results in FRI zero drift. Numerical estimates are given. Several methods are proposed to eliminate the influence of this spurious effect on FRI zero drift.
