Abstract

Experience from the removal of 250 tumorous kidneys furnished ground for the author to describe a few important technical points of surgery, which emerged in the course of radical nephrectomy, isolation of the renal artery and vein, and removal of tumour thrombus from the vena cava. Radical surgery in the T2–3 N1–2 M0 stage has been found to heighten the chances of five-year survival for the majority of patients.
