Abstract
Reoxidation by carbon dioxide and reduction by methane of modified manganese and magnesium oxides have been studied. Surface oxidation has an optimum degree for reoxidation of manganese systems by carbon dioxide in contrast to that by oxygen. This leads to a higher selectivity towards C2 hydrocarbons in the reduction of manganese oxide by methane.
