Abstract

Mössbauer studies of ultrafine clusters of iron oxides, hydroxides and metallic iron are reported. The investigations deal with the structure of clusters, their surface, and interaction of clusters with carriers. Thermodynamic considerations reveal the role of porous media in the processes of nucleation and growth of ultrafine clusters and their peculiar solid-liquid properties.
