Zur Wirkung bakterieller Pyrogene bei intravenöser und intrathekaler Injektion

Zusammenfassung

Der Vergleich intravenöser und intrathekaler Injektionen gleicher Dosen des Endotoxins aus S. abortus equi (Pyrexal) bei Kaninchen zeigt den schnelleren Fieberbeginn und die stärkere Ausprägung des Fiebers über den Blutweg und nur dabei die Entstehung einer initialen Granulo-cytopenie. Bei intravenöser Applikation sind die Bedingungen für die Auslösung des Fiebers und der Reaktionen des wei\en Blutbildes günstiger als über den Liquorweg. Ein direkter zentraler Wirkungsmechanismus derartiger bakterieller Substanzen ist dabei als Nebeneffekt zwar nicht ausgeschlossen, erscheint aber doch sehr unwahrscheinlich. Für den durch das Endotoxin bei intrathekaler Injektion hervorgerufenen initialen Temperaturabfall kommt am ehesten eine Direktwirkung in Betracht.
