Abstract
Batamote (Baccharis glutinosa Pers.), a plant native to the south-western desert of the United States has been recommended in local folklore for the therapy of athlete's foot (tinea pedis). An aqueous extract of the dried powdered leaves of this plant has been shown to inhibit dermatophytesin vitro. Further purification studies are in progress.
