Abstract

A hitherto unknown parasite of theMegastigmus suspectus larvae, the pest of fir-seeds (Abies alba Mill.), was found and identified asMesopolobus pinus. It was stated from the Roztoczański National Park in Poland. That this parasite is able to play considerable role in the limitation ofMegastigmus suspectus population.

Zusammenfassung

Auf Grund von 1985 in Polen durchgeführten Untersuchungen wurde als bisher nicht bekannter Parasit der in Tannensamen (Abies alba Mill.) lebendenMegastigmus suspectus Borr. (Hym., Torymidae),Mesopolobus pinus Hussey (Hym., Pteromalidae) nachgewiesen.

Die Zucht aus Samen vom Roztoczański Nationalpark in Polen zeigten, daß der Parasit eine beträchtliche Rolle bei der Einschränkung der Population vomMegastigmus suspectus spielen kann. Die Untersuchungen bilden die Grundlage für einen eventuellen Einsatz dieser Parasitenart zur biologischen Bekämpfung des Samenschädlings.
