Summary
An overview is presented of epidemiological, experimental, and some clinical data which focus on the importance of nutritional factors in the aetiology and clinical course of breast cancer. There seem to be at least two different nutritional factors involved: dietary fat, and a fat body mass (obesity). The author describes work of his group in elucidating the role of obesity.
Nutritional intervention as a possible means of controlling the disease looms at the horizon.
