Abstract

Electron optical parameters are calculated for an axially symmetrical magnetic field which in the central plane decreases inversely proportionally to the distance from the axis. The equipotential surfaces of this field are coaxial cones with a common vertex. The influence of the dispersion on the vertical focusing is estimated. The results obtained are used in proposing sector and prismatic beta spectrometers.
