Preservation of the ruptured spleen by gluing with highly concentrated human fibrinogen: Experimental and clinical results

Abstract

Preservation of the ruptured spleen with fibrin glue was accomplished in 2 series of laboratory studies with Wistar rats. Subsequent clinical trials in repair of ruptured spleens in children are also reported. Direct gluing constitutes an excellent alternative in preserving functional splenic tissue.
