Relationship between Ristocetin-induced platelet aggregation and factor VIII (activity and antigen) in v. Willebrand's disease

Blut Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Results are presented indicating that Ristocetin aggregated normal platelet but failed to cause platelet aggregation in 11 out of 15 patients withv. Willebrand's disease.

No correlations were found between Ristocetin-induced platelet aggregation and bleeding time or platelet adhesiveness. On the contrary a correlation existed between Ristocetin aggregation and factor VIII antigen and activity, in the examinedv. Willebrand patients.

Willebrand-Patienten.
