Summary

Different possibilities of discussing the stability of adaptive control systems are treated using the direct method of Ljapunov. After some introductory remarks about the concept of adaptive systems the question of solving the stability problem occurring for such systems is considered in general. The proposed approaches are applied to several special cases.
