Abstract
The elastic interaction between the dispiration and the 2π-disclination in Sm C* phases of liquid crystal is estimated. It is shown that this interaction can influence the mobility of the 2π-disclinations through the Sm C* structure. The core energy of the twist-edge dispiration with the Burgers vector equal to the smectic layer thickness is estimated using the Peierls-Nabarro model.
