Simplified medium (MTCM-1601) for insect cell lines

  • Published:
Journal of tissue culture methods

Summary

A simple medium based on diluted sea water is described. The medium is serum-free and autoclaveable. It supports growth of various cell lines originated from lepidopteran and dipteran insects. However, growth rates are reduced compared to those in serum-containing and filter-sterilized media.
