Abstract
LEP measurements of theZ 0 parameters have been used to estimate the value of QED coupling constant at theZ 0 mass. The estimated value α -1eff (M Z )=128.2±0.9 +0.0-0.4 (M top) is in good agreement with the expectation of 128.0 +0.2−0.4 from the Standard Model.
