Abstract

Antisera recognizing five specificities of plasma proteins inStreptopelia senegalensis were produced inS. risoria. Immunizations were made with serum ofS. senegalensis or with plasma from selected backcross hybrids obtained from mating toS. risoria hybrids from the cross ofS. senegalensis ×S. risoria. The genetic segregation in the first backcross generation of the presence or absence of reactivity with each antiserum could be explained by the assumption that single genes inS. senegalensis effected each protein specificity.
