Preparation of uniform silica spheres

Summary

The process of obtaining uniform size silica sols has been studied and improved.

The different steps of the preparation have been separated and analysed.

The distribution of the sizes of the spheres has been calculated from electron microscope data.

An explanation of the mechanism of growth has been given and the equation of the growth corroborated.

Zusammenfassung

Das Verfahren zur Herstellung von Silikasolen gleichförmiger Größe wurde untersucht und verbessert.

Die verschiedenen Stufen des Präparationsverlaufs wurden getrennt und analysiert.

Es wurde die Größenverteilung der Kugeln elektronenmikroskopisch bestimmt und eine Erklärung des Wachstumsmechanismus, dessen theoretischer Ausdruck nachgeprüft wurde, abgeleitet.
