Determination of the parameters of disturbed zones when designing the support of underground hydraulic structures

Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The developed statistical probability approach permits predicting the load on the support related to the possibility of the formation of a rock fall (if it is not determined by a joint system) in relation to the depth of the given section of the tunnel and calculated reliability (for example, 95, 99, 99.9%).

  2. 2.

Compared with the method of determining the load according to M. M. Protod'yakonov's “arching” hypothesis, the developed method permits a more flexible and substantiated (depending on the depth and necessary reliability) approach to the design of supports, thereby providing more economical and reliable designs.
