Coherent and statistical features in the heavy ion reactions

  • Published:
Zeitschrift für Physik A Atoms and Nuclei

Abstract

The averaged reaction cross section is split into two parts one of which represents the coherent direct process whereas the other corresponds to a component passing the complex stage of intermediate interaction. In the second part the statistical correlation of states with close angular momenta is taken into account. Essential qualitative features of the both types of processes are discussed and the relationship to the currently used detailed theories for deep inelastic processes is pointed out.
