Conclusions
The favorable experience of reconstruction and subsequent operation of the guide bearings of turbines of the cascade of Chirchik hydrostations confirms the possibility of modernizing bearings under conditions of operating hydrostations.
The installation of turbine guide bearings with rubberized segments and water lubrication instead of bearings with babbitted bushings and oil lubrication greatly simplifies the design of the lower support component of the rotor of the unit, makes this component accessible and convenient to service and repair, and increases the reliability and life of the entire unit.
Having well-equipped repair facilities in power systems, the operating personnel of hydrostations are able to perform the given works independently under the technical supervision of specialists of hydroturbine equipment manufacturing plants.
