Microscopic derivation of Landau's transport theory of Fermi liquids

  • Published:
Zeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei

Abstract

The linearized version of Landau's transport theory of Fermi liquids is derived using Green's-function techniques. The transport equation includes high-frequency corrections in the collision integral and describes situations which vary on a scale larger than atomic. Landau's expressions for the densities and currents of conserved quantities are verified by a comparison with exact expressions.
