Summary
A simple method is described for determining the sites of excretion of ninhydrin-positive substances from the undamaged roots of seedlings of broad bean. Results are given on the sites of excretion of such substances from the germinating seed and from the young root. It is suggested that in such roots the centres of maximum excretion may be correlated with centres of high proteolytic activity within the root.
