Abstract
The lifetimes of 14 levels of the Tm I spectrum have been measured using the technique of zero field level crossing. For 3 Tm I levels the hyperfine splitting of169Tm was measured by investigating the level crossings at finite values of the magnetic field.
Using the eigenvectors derived by Camus, the measured lifetimes are discussed and the radialintegralsI(6s, 6p) andI(4f, 5d) for the electric dipole transitions from the excited levels belonging to the configurations 4f 136s6p and 4f 125d6s 2 to the ground state (configuration: 4f 136s 2) are calculated. The results are compared with theoretical values computed from Hartree Fock wave functions (Camus).
