A molecular beam study of a van der Waals complex; vibration-inversion transitions in NH3-Ar

Abstract

Three ν2 vibration-inversion transitions of NH3-Ar have been found with linewidths smaller than 2 MHz, yielding a minimum predissociation lifetime of 80 ns. While one of these lines was previously identified as a low frequency inversion doublet transition, the other two lines belong to the high frequency component of the ν2 vibration-inversion doublet.
