Phase diffusion equation for roll patterns of systems lacking reflectional symmetry

Abstract

By symmetry arguments we present the phase diffusion equation for the description of spatially modulated roll patterns of isotropic nonequilibrium systems lacking reflectional symmetry such as high Prandtl number Rayleigh-Bénard convection in a fluid layer rotating about a vertical axis.
