Summary
The technical and methodical status of radiotherapy in esophageal carcinoma is reviewed, especially the combination of preoperative irradiation with a radical operation. Preoperative irradiation performed systematically in a concentrated form or in a full series could probably improve therapeutic results and survival time. The combination of radiotherapy with Misonidazol has been mentioned, as well as the interaction between radiation and chemotherapy.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird eine Übersicht über den technischen und methodischen Stand der Strahlentherapie und die Möglichkeiten einer Kombination mit einer radikalen Operation gegeben. Es kann erwartet werden, daß eine systematische Kurzzeit- oder bei größen Tumoren auch Langzeitvorbestrahlung zu einer Verbesserung der Überlebenszeiten führen kann. Auch die Kombination der Bestrahlung mit strahlensensibilisierenden Stoffen (Misonidazol) und mit der Chemotherapie wurde erwähnt.
