A K D Campbell is a graduate of St Andrews University and a fellow of the Library Association. He has experience in public and college libraries and is now tutor-librarian at the Institute of Education, University of Keele. He is the author of a guide to novels with a background of school. He is married, with two children under eight. p]Since this article has gone to press Warne have reissued another of Beatrix Potter's stories,The Tale of the Faith ful Dove, with illustrations by Marie Angel.
