Summary
Twenty-eight mutants sensitive to agar polysaccharides were isolated from microplaques which the original herpesvirus produced in chick embryo fibroblasts. Nineteen of the mutants were induced by hydroxylamine.
The investigation of the frequency of the mutation, both spontaneous and induced, allowed some conclusions on the nature and the mechanism of their production.
