Zur Diagnose, zur allgemeinen und experimentellen Pathologie des Carcinoidsyndroms

Zusammenfassung

Durch die von uns angeführten experimentellen Untersuchungen im Verein mit der Symptomatologie, den morphologischen Organveränderungen von Carcinoidträgern sowie durch die experimentellen Untersuchungen anderer Autoren wird die schon seinerzeit vonFeyrter vermutete endokrine Funktion der Carcinoide klargelegt. Damit wird auch die AnsichtJores, der die “diffusen endokrinen epithelialen Organe” in die Hormonbildungsstätten einordnet, neuerdings bestätigt.

Summary

The endocrine function of the carcinoid supposed previously byFeyrter can be proved as follows:

• 1. Our experimental investigations in the skin of the frog after injections of 5-hydroxytryptamine show a stimulation of the hypophysis followed by secretion of ACTH.

• 2. The symptomatology and the changes of the organ's morphology on persons affected by a carcinoid.

• 3. The investigations of other authors.

The results proof againJores' opinion that the diffuse epithelial endocrine organs (Feyrter) are to be regarded as hormon-producers.

La fonction endocrinienne du carcinoïde jadis supposée parFeyrter peut être prouvée par les faits suivants:

• 1. Nos investigations expérimentales dans la peau de la grenouille après injections de la 5-hydroxytryptamine montrent une stimulation de l'hypophyse suivie par sécrétion d'ACTH.

• 2. La symptomatologie et le changement de la morphologie organique chez les personnes atteintes d'un carcinoïde.

• 3. Les investigations expérimentales d'autres auteurs.

Les résultats confirment nouvellement l'opinion deJores, que les organes endocriniens épithéliaux diffus (Feyrter) doivent être considérés comme producteurs d'hormones.
