Determination of alkaloids by a ring colorimetry method

Summary

The Weisz ring colorimetry method has been applied to the microscale determination of alkaloids. The following substances were determined: nicotine, atropine, cinchonine, quinine, narcotine, morphine, codeine, aconitine, strychnine, and brucine. The errors obtained amounted, on an average, to about 3%, and the determinations were performed with 10–50 μg of the alkaloids investigated.

Zusammenfassung

Die Ringkolorimetrie nachWeisz wurde für die Mikrobestimmung von Alkaloiden herangezogen. Folgende Substanzen wurden analysiert: Nikotin, Atropin, Cinchonin, Chinin, Narkotin, Morphin, Codein, Aconitin, Strychnin und Brucin. Die beobachteten Fehler betragen durchschnittlich ungefähr 3%. Die Bestimmungen wurden mit 10 bis 50 μg des betreffenden Alkaloids durchgeführt.

Résumé

On a appliqué la méthode colorimétrique annulaire deWeisz au dosage d'alcaloïdes à l'échelle micro. On a dosé les substances suivantes: nicotine, atropine, chinchonine, quinine, narcotine, morphine, codéine, aconitine, strychnine et brucine. Les erreurs obtenues s'élevaient en moyenne à 3% environ et les dosages ont été réalisés sur 10 à 50 μg d'alcaloïdes étudiés.
