A new method for the determination of sulphur in organic compounds containing nitrogen.

Summary

A new method is described for the micro- and semi-microdetermination of sulphur in organic compounds when nitrogen is also present. After combustion by conventional procedures, the sulphate formed is precipitated with 4-amino-4′-chlorodiphenyl, filtered and titrated alkalimetrically. Nitrates and halides do not interfere. The method is rapid and accurate.

Zusammenfassung

Eine neue Methode zur Mikro- und Semimikrobestimmung von Schwefel in stickstoffhaltigen organischen Verbindungen wird beschrieben. Das im üblichen Verbrennungsvorgang gebildete Sulfat wird mit 4-Amino-4′-chlordiphenyl gefällt, filtriert und alkalimetrisch titriert. Nitrate und Halogenide stören nicht. Das Verfahren ist rasch und genau.

Résumé

On décrit une nouvelle méthode micro et semimicro du soufre dans les composés organiques quand le soufre est présent. Après combustion par les procédés habituels, le sulfate formé est précipité par l'amino-4 chloro-4′diphényle, filtré et titré par alcalimétrie. Les nitrates et les halogénures n'interfèrent pas. La méthode est rapide et précise.
