Summary

The aim of this work was to develop a method based on ICP-OES for the determination of trace elements in alumina-based ceramic powders containing SiO2 and MgO, respectively, and to study the evaporation and excitation of several elements by using external electrothermal vaporization. This method has the advantage of easy preparation, no dilution and short experiment durations. The evaporation mechanism was investigated separately from the excitation processes by means of radioactive59Fe and115Cd isotopes. The influence of different thermochemical additives, as well as third elements and matrix compositions was determined.
