Summary
Designs of levitation units and the experimental procedure are presented. It was found that the hydrogen content in solidified cobalt samples depends on the temperature of the liquid metal during levitation in hydrogen atmosphere and particularly, on the temperature of a copper mould used for quenching. The hydrogen content in solid samples was similar to that reported in the literature for liquid cobalt only when the hot mould (90°C) was used. This particular behavior of hydrogen in cobalt samples is discussed in the presented paper.
