Abstract
A description is given of a new method of creating impulsive loads involving the use of electrodynamic forces acting on a specimen placed in a strong pulsed magnetic field. The apparatus based on this principle makes it possible to obtain pressure pulses of hundreds of atmospheres with pulse durations of from tens of microseconds to several milliseconds.
