Reactions of methylcyclohexanones with concentrated sulfuric acid

Conclusions

In reaction with concentrated sulfuric acid 2-, 3-, and 4-methylcyclohexanones undergo autocondensation and simultaneous intramolecular cyclization with formation of furan compounds.
