Turbulence measurements in wall jets along strongly concave surfaces

Summary

The present experiment found that turbulence intensities in turbulent wall jets along a concave surface increase remarkably, when the radius of curvature becomes smaller beyond a certain condition. The critical condition is discussed in comparison with the Taylor-Görtler instability for turbulent wall jets. The measurements are also made for the mean velocity field, the Reynolds stress, the turbulence energy balance and the velocity correlations.
